Comments: "Andre's precision to emulate a singer is remarkable and so diverse - one minute he's Louis Armstrong and a split second later he's The Bee Gees. The whole sound system has to support that degree of subtly to every person in the audience and the console is a key component of the show. I actually bought this console based on a recommendation from Bill Coons at Contact Distribution and the reputations of Chuck Augustowski and the rest of his design team having caught a glimpse of it at the Plaza show but not actually listening to it. As promised, the minute we turned it on we could hear something special and noticeably better than a lot of other desks. When we first opened the case at delivery, everyone said it looked like it was worth far more than we paid. Over the first week of using it we started to notice features like.Great sounding mics preamp, nice E.Q., true Stereo bussing, that at first glance we'd overlooked. It's obvious that APB did a lot of research to produce a board without any compromises. When you really 'look at it' you notice that the parts and construction are the best we usually see in a much more expensive console.

What: Chris McBride (audio engineer - Markham Theatre-Tor) took one down to the CD Release party for Toronto jazz prodigy Rob Christian and got the chance to mix some of the city's best players through the desk and dump it down to CuBase.

Comments: "This desk is loaded with features that engineers always need but may not be able to budget for. The layout of the desk and the visual confirmation via all the LED's and metering is the best I've come across in a long time. The routing can get anything to anywhere which is vital for different applications and artists and how techs setup a desk differently. The blue LED's are so much better that previous industry choices and reinforces the fact that the guys at APB have spent many hours behind a desk and understand operator's challenges. The pre-amps are astoundingly good to the point I needed little or no eq because the mics actually sounded like they were supposed to. When I did use eq I got a real sense of precision that you only find on very expensive consoles 5 times the price of the Spectra T. I've talked to some others that have now had a chance to mix on an APB desk and they confirmed the same great experience that I did. Brilliant!"
